Probably old news to most, but the Telluride Daily Planet reported on Wednesday that the Telluride Arts board has put Phish on the calendar for August 9th & 10th. Phish will follow Telluride's Jazz festival that ends on August 8th. Although Telluride's town council still must give final approval, this thing seems to be a lock. If you haven't already done so, book your hotels ASAP- “The town is not going to have a problem selling out its rooms”. In fact, the main worry was the opposite: Will more than 9,000 people show up to town, even though they don’t have a ticket? The board discussed the possibility of setting up a barricade at the entrance to town, the way the town does during Bluegrass, so that only people with tickets would be allowed in town. With the venue holding an intimate 9,000, I just hope Phish comes up with an equitable way to distribute tickets because these shows will be gems no doubt.
The view should make for quite the ethereal Phish experience-
