Still Waiting?

With reports of Phish Ticket by Mail confirmation/rejection e-mails flooding twitter & PT, those unlucky enough to be at the end of the e-mail line must sit and wait in anticipation.  I am one of those people.  With a $1,000 hold on my credit card, my mind is reeling, trying to analyze all the possibilities and discern if I indeed, may potentially have a Telluride 2-day pass, or 3 Nights at the Greek locked up.  Although my algorithm concludes that Telluride has great potential, I cannot qualm my anxiety without the e-mail! So, to those sitting in limbo like myself, our summer plans hinge on one e-mail and one e-mail only.  To those who have already received confirmation, I hope to walk amongst you shortly. Finally, to those who have rejection e-mails...no worries, public on-sale awaits and to make your ticketbastard journey a little less strenuous, here are some Alpine Valley presale passwords I found on twitter -

Phish + Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

On Thursday, May 13th, Phish will be the musical guest on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon as part of the show's Rolling Stones' “Exile on Main Street” week (each night of the week a different band will cover a song from the classic Stones album). This will be the band's first televised appearance since 2004.

Exciting stuff...can't wait to find out who the other bands will be.  I might need to be wearing some Depends if they bust out Loving Cup, cuz shit could get messy.

In advance of the nationwide roll-out, exclusive preview screenings will be shown in nine cities -- Boston; Burlington, VT; Chicago; Denver; Houston; Los Angeles; New York; Raleigh/Durham, NC; and Washington, D.C.-- on April 20th. In addition to experiencing this special screening, fans in attendance will take home a Phish 3D movie poster.             Tickets for the Tuesday, April 20th screenings will be available for purchase on Friday, March 26 (individual theater on-sale dates may be subject to change). Ticketing information is available at www.phish3dmovie.com or with the following theaters.

Phish @ The Knickerbocker, Albany, NY (11/27/09)

The first set raged with a dirty version of Gumbo and finished tantalizingly strong with an epic 4-song combination.  Timber, which made one of its few appearances in 2009, bled ever so eloquently into Limb by Limb.  Cavern raged per usual and acquiesced into the ambience of Light.  There was something in the air @ the Knick, and phans only had an inkling of the sonic wrath Phish had in store for the following night with Seven Below > Ghost. Enjoy the full 1st Night Albany show....

Encore: Fire
Notes: This show marked the Phish debut of Golden Age and the debut of Tomorrow's Song. During Page's solo in Coil, the rest of the band left the stage.  Upon returning, Trey said that they had left for the encore and asked Page where he had been, leading into I Been Around. The Fire encore continued the tradition of Phish playing a Hendrix cover on the guitarist's birthday (11/27/92 and 11/27/96 being the other occasions)

This is my Cayman Trip Too!

My deepest apologies for the weekend break from WeBeatOkimo! Needed some sunshine so I headed down to the Caribbean for the weekend.  Whilst soaking up the rays I had a lot of time for Phish Summer Tour 2010 reflection.  With my mail order in @ http://www.phish.portals.musictoday.com/, I am overflowing with sheer anticipation and jubilation.  To add to the excitement, here is a weekend roundup of some heady PhishNews & Videos...

Phish Summer Tour 2010

PHISH SUMMER TOUR 2010 from Phish on Vimeo.

First off...Henrietta's cameo in the video = EPIC. Second, what happened to the Gorge?!?!?! Perhaps Phish didn't want the pressure of topping last year's storied run at the Gorge. Third, I'd love to know the sentiments of the west coast phans - please take the poll above. Looks like Phish sorta snubbed west-coasters, while cashing in on the east-coast. Perhaps the sharp focus on the east coast allowed Phish the financial flexibility to do the 5 "boutique" shows at the Greek and Telluride. Even though the five west-coast shows should be gems, the lack of seating really closes off the potential for west-coast phans to enjoy Phish without a long flight eastward.

Phish is hitting some old-faithfuls, new venues, and some serious classics. Phish will return to the Finger Lakes PAC for the first time in 551 shows. The boys' return to the Green will be the first in a whopping 696 shows!. It will be their first visit to both the nTelos Wireless Pavillion in Portsmouth, VA and the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park in Alpharetta, GA. Regardless of the rather peculiar summer tour setup, we all know that as phans, we make it to shows. We're driven to Phish, a deep, magnetic urning for the connection, release, and introspection that could only be catalyzed by the experience Phish provides. And I mean...lets be honest...one can't find a harder rage-fest than that which exists on lot. You can find me on shakedown...wearing blublockers, with a ticket stub in my hand...(and a nitrous balloon in the other). In the words of Will Smith -

Phish + Genesis + RRHOF = One Wigged Out Night

Last night was pretty surreal.  Loved the horns. I do have one qualm though, and it went something like this in my head last night - "What?! Is the Waldorf Astoria too good for Fishman's dress?!?!" Upon further reflection I pondered if in actuality, Fishman's dress was too good for the Waldorf. Regardless, whether or not Phish's performance struck a chord with you, one thing can be sure - Trey's speech was passionate, deeply sincere and extremely well executed.  Definitely from the heart.  I was expecting the summer tour announcement today, but who knows what they have up their sleeve.  Have no fear, I've got a couple leads and am putting together a list of confirmed Leg 1 dates. Should have the final list up soon. For now, to quench that thirst that only Phish will satiate, here are some videos from last night....in case you missed it - Oh yeah, and I'm still looking for a video of Trey's speech. Please feel free to e-mail me some green text if you found it.

Undercover Vid of Phish Practicing for Tonight!

I just found an undercover video of Phish rehearsing for tonight.  Some innovative phan on the inside got stealthy with it...

Phish to Play in NYC @ Waldorf Astoria Tonight

As previously announced, Big Red will be inducting Genesis into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame tonight @ NYC's Waldorf Astoria.  Those following Festival 8's 'play the last album alive' will remember that Phish had included The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway on the list.  One can only assume Phish will be playing a few select tracks off this album tonight.

C/o Hidden Track - The members of Phish will take the stage tonight for the first time in 2010 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City where they will open this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. As previously announced, Phish guitarist/vocalist Trey Anastasio will induct Genesis which will be followed by Phish performing a couple of Genesis classics.  Tonight’s ceremony – including Phish’s performance – will be broadcast liveon Fuse starting at 8:30PM EDT. The 2010 Rock n’ Roll Hall Of Fame inductees are ABBA, Genesis, Jimmy Cliff, The Hollies, The Stooges, David Geffen, Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil, Ellie Greenwich & Jeff Barry, Jesse Stone, Mort Shuman and Otis Blackwell.
